TWO CHILDREN WROTE... We have been attending holiday programme since I turned 5. I have been a helper now for 2 years. Most days around 15-20 people were there. Last holidays we had some new children who came along that hadn't been before. We even had some children from Christchurch and Dunedin who came along who must have been staying with relatives.
Miss Galletly and the other helpers organise a fun filled four days for the children who come along. It costs 50c per day and we provide morning tea. For morning tea we had hot milo, a biscuit and a bit of cut up fruit. Some of the activities include baking (pizza or biscuits), bead work, wordfinds, crosswords, make crafts such as sheep with magnets on the back for your fridge (the sheep is sheep fluff stuck onto a bit of card cut into the shape of a sheep and then you glue a magnet onto the back), go to the gym for sports activities and sometimes the boys pull old things apart such as old computers, irons. None of the things they pull apart work anymore. We even play table tennis when we are finished our activities. My favourite activity is taking the younger children for games in the gym. The children have a lot of fun, make new friends and learn new skills. Sounds like fun doesn't it! Come and join us next holidays. Dates are advertised in the Genesis closer to the next holidays.
